Banepa, June 14   ,,  The Mandandeupur municipality in Kavrepalanchwok has decided to ban the entry of tippers and tractors inside the municipal area for the next three months in view of the under-construction road project. The June 9 meeting of the local government agreed to put a ban on such motor vehicles beginning from upcoming June 16. The local government today issued a public notice to this regard. Anyone found violating the decision will be fined Rs 25,000 each time (for tipper) and Rs 15,000 each time (for tractor). The decision shall remain into force till September 17. However, the municipality has stated that trucks and tippers can be operated by taking prior approval from the municipality on the recommendation of the municipality ward concerned for transporting construction materials if roads and other projects need to be constructed within the municipality area. Municipality mayor Tok Bahadur Waiba said the municipality’s executive meeting took this decision as the under-construction roads would be spoilt during the rainy season if the trucks, tractors, tippers and lorries are allowed to operate in an unregulated manner. Municipality spokesperson Dilli Acharya said there are 13 big roads and many branch roads within the municipality, most of which are not asphalted. So, operation of heavy vehicles like tractors, tippers and lorries on these branch roads would further degrade the road condition, therefore the need to regulate the operation of these vehicles.
