Kathmandu, June 14  ,,  Kathmandu Valley Road Expansion Project has directed a halt of an under-construction bridge at Tinkune in the valley following a major fault in the construction. Cracks have been spotted in the three foundations of the bridge over the Bagmati river by the Development and Technology Committee under the House of Representatives during its recent field inspection. This information was revealed in the committee’s meeting today. The committee asked the government to allow continuation of the construction only after reviewing the blueprint of the bridge. Following this, the Institute of Engineering under the Tribhuvan University has been assigned to remap the project. The committee found contractors responsible for the fault in the construction. The bridge is 86 meters in length and 17 meters in width. Putting his view in the meeting, a committee member Ganesh Pahari demanded acceleration of the construction. A draft of the annual report for the fiscal year of 2075/76 was tabled in the meeting. Likewise, the subcommittee formed under the chairpersonship of committee member Bina Kumari Shrestha to work on the bill relating to the management of information technology also presented its report.
