Kathmandu, June 15 (RSS): Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota on Friday informed that efforts were on to bring an act related to advertisements. He said the act aims to promote and protect media profession and sovereignty, and respect social morality.
Constructive suggestions would be welcomed in this regard, he said at a discussion on the Bill relating to advertisements held at the Ministry.
On the occasion, Ministry Secretary Mahendra Man Gurung assured of making advertisement sector manageable and responsible after forming an advertisement board.
During the meeting, authorities concerned suggested that the advertisement board should have representation from all advertisement agencies and media society and advertisement policy be proportional. They have also demanded standards to be in place for advertisement rate and practical and scientific classification of media.
