Women participation in sports sectors to be increased

Kathmandu, June 12 (RSS): Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar has called for increasing women’s participation in the sports sector, also to lessen violence against women.
Speaking at an interaction on participation of women in sports organized by National Youth Council here today, Minister Sunar said that the social development without the development of sports was impossible. He further added that the sports had helped bring the USA and North Korea for a dialogue.
Similarly, NSC vice chair Keshav Bahadur Bista shared that the President Women Participation programme will be continued in the upcoming fiscal year and Rs 14 million rupees was allocated for the same.
Council member Shakuntala Nakarmi, Nepal Television programme director Arati Chataut and Sancharika Samuha chair Nirmala Sharma among others have stressed on increasing women’s participation in the sports sector.
