Telecom services disrupted in three districts

Khotang, Aug 9 All the services of Nepal Telecom have disrupted in three districts of State-1, including Khotang. Namaste mobile, landline telephone and ADSL service of the Nepal Telecom have been obstructed in Khotang, Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts since 12.00 Wednesday night. Khagendra Magar, Chief, Nepal Telecom Khotang, informed the service was disrupted after the wind storm dislodged the umbrella of radio link installed at Chitrethan of Udayapur. “The wind storm has bent the umbrella which was linked to the tower based in Rajbiraj. It caused disruption of Telecom services”, he added. “Though technicians have already reached the Chitre Tower for maintenance, it has yet to start since the wind storm is still continuing”. With the obstruction of all the services of Telecom, the service recipients of all three districts have remained out of communications. Owing to the disruption, the service recipients of all three districts now are compelled to use Ncell Mobile. It has also widely affected the operatio0n of media, banks and financial institutions and trade and business in the districts. —
