Itahari, July 3 (RSS): At least six Indian citizens were killed in a road accident at Koshi erosion region of Koshi Rural Municipality along the East-West Highway.
The accident occurred when a bolero jeep with Indian number plate (BR 06 PB 6418) met with the mishap today.
Similarly, three others were injured in the accident, of which the condition of two is reported to be critical, said District Police Office, Sunsari Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajan Adhikari.
The vehicle fell into water accumulated below the road as it was on the way to Sunsari headquarters from the Koshi barrage.
The deceased have been identified as Lalita Ram, 60, Surendra Ram, 36, Dhirendra Kumar, 30, Gunu Kumar,7, Sanjeev Kumar,41, Kanchani Kumar, 30, of Laxmaniya village in Supail district of India.
Similarly, seriously injured Niludevi Poddar, Adim Kumar and Lal Kumar are undergoing treatment at Sanjeevani hospital, Biratnagar.
