Reconstruction with basis for livelihood

Nuwakot, Dec 18,, Ninety-six earthquake survivors of Nuwakot district have completed a model reconstruction along with basis for their livelihood.
The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) after the agreement with the National Reconstruction Authority supported 96 families of Bidur municipality-6 and 12 in infrastructure, agriculture, community development and health sectors.
Programme Coordinator of ICIMOD, Govinda Joshi told Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the ICIMOD provided support of construction materials worth Rs 200,000, materials worth Rs 50,000 for the construction of toilet, biogas, solar power panels to each family as well as special support to the families willing to do agriculture business.
The folks with the support of ICIMOD have formed Dhungenatar Reconstruction and Development Society for sustainability for the programme. ICIMOD has assigned four social facilitators along with office building for the Society.
Chief Executive Officer of the NRA, Sushil Gyawali, on Monday handed over the quake resistant shelters to the locals.
Gyawali said that local governments would be made more responsible in reconstruction task. Similarly, Chief of District Coordination Committee, Nuwakot, Santaman Tamang, stressed that activities carrying out by ICIMOD at the settlement should be sustainable, adding that a programme for the construction of model village should be brought in all 12 local levels of the district.
