Progress in eye treatment laudable- DPM

Kathmandu, June 23 (RSS): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Upendra Yadav has said that Nepal has been able to make notable progress in the eye health sector.
Speaking at a reception organised in honour of the Pakistani ophthalmologists by Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association here today, he said the strides taken by Nepal in the treatment of eye-related ailments is useful to the neighbouring countries as well.
The Pakistani ophthalmologists are in the capital to attend the 14th SAARC Ophthalmology Conference.
Emphasizing on the need for increasing collaboration among the doctors in the SAARC region for the healthy life of the South Asian people, DPM Yadav said the friendship between Nepal and Pakistan should be further expanded in the days to come.
Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Dr. Mazhar Javed said exchange of technical knowledge between the medical practitioners of the two counties would help further expand the friendly relations at the people’s level.
Association Chair Himalaya Shumsher JB Rana and General Secretary Manju Ratna Shakya shed light on the various initiatives carried out by the Association to further expand Nepal-Pakistan relations at the people’s level.
