Kathmandu, July 18 (RSS): Nepali national cricket team is leaving Thursday for the UK to play a triangular series to be played at the Lords Cricket Ground. In the series, Nepal will play against Melbourne Cricket Club and the Netherlands starting July 29.
This will be followed by two one-day internationals against the Netherlands to be held on August 1 and 3.
Prior to this, the Nepali team would also play four practice matches in Britain.
The team includes captain Paras Khadka, vice-captain Gyanendra Malla, Anil Kumar Saha, Basanta Regmi, Dipendra Singh Airi, Lalit Bhandari, Sandip Lamichhane, Shakti Prasad Gauchan, Sharad Bheswakar, Sompal Kami, Lalit Narayan Rajbansi, Mohammad Arif Sheikh, Subash Khakurel and Rohit Kumar Poudel are leaving for the match.
Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Sunar Bishwokarma bade farewell to the team on Wednesday.
Shakti Gauchan announces retirement
Meanwhile, team member Shakti Gauchan has decided to announce retirement from the international cricket after playing against the Netherlands.
