Govt to end corruption, crime: Home Minister Thapa

Kathmandu, June 15 (RSS): Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Friday said the Ministry was taking concrete steps to end corruption, smuggling, crime and the culture of monopoly.
The government is committed to utilising revenue generated from hard work of the people, he said at a programme organised here on the occasion of a Magar community’s festival ‘Bhume’.
On the occasion, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun stressed the need for conserving various historical and cultural festivals celebrated by Magar community.
Likewise, Minister for Drinking Water Bina Magar pointed out an important role of Magar community in every movement for change in the country.
Chairperson of Nepal Magar Association Nabin Rokka complained that the government removed public holidays given previously on the occasion of festivals celebrated by the indigenous nationalities.
