Dr Bhattarai criticises govt. for barring demonstrations

Kathmandu, July 4 (RSS): Naya Shakti Party Nepal coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai has opposed, saying the government declared prohibited zones at various places against the people’s fundamental rights.
“It is a matter of worry as a communist-led majority government is against democratic socialism,” he said talking part in a meeting of House of Representatives today.
“Prohibition orders have been issued banning demonstrations in various areas against general values and norms of democracy, which will only restrict democracy.”
He also stressed the need for the government to become proactive for preparedness during natural disasters and rescue operation and relief distribution to those affected by flooding and landslides.
