Death threat to deputy mayor draws NC attention

Chitwan, Feb 21 ,, Nepali Congress Chitwan has expressed serious concern on the death threat to Deputy Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and NC leader Parbati Shah Thakuri.
Issuing a press release on Wednesday, NC Chitwan Secretary Uttam Joshi said the party’s attention has been drawn over the incident of threat of life to the people-elected representative.
Such tendency would discourage the people’s representatives in their motivation to work for public goods, the release reads. NC has warned not to issue threat and intimidation to the people’s representatives in any pretext.
The NC has also demanded the concerned side to take action against those involved in such activities.
Deputy Mayor Thakuri said a student leader had sent her a threatening message through social networking site. —
