Vice President extends Christmas wishes

Kathmandu, Dec 25,,  Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has extended best wishes to all the Christian Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Christmas Festival.
In the message, the Vice President has wished them happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and progress on the occasion.
Stating that Nepal is a multilingual, multi-caste, multi-religious and multi-cultural country with geographical diversities, the Vice President termed the proportional inclusive system with democratic republic, federalism, secularism and social justice the significant achievement of the Nepali people gained following a long struggle.
“The Nepal’s constitution has guaranteed people’s right to religion, protection and promotion of all religion and, but forced conversion has been prohibited,” he said.
Religious and cultural festivals have been contributing to keeping the social unity, goodwill and religious tolerance intact by further strengthening the national unity, he said, adding that such festival have been expected to further promote the feeling of mutual goodwill, social unity and fraternity in the Nepalese society characterized by the diverse culture and religions.
“May the Christmas Day inspire all to find a path towards progress by assimilating the culture unity and collaboration.”
The Christians celebrates the December 25 every year as the Merry Christmas (Christmas Day). —
