Tourism Minister Adhikari pledges better service delivery

Kathmandu, Aug. 13 , Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari has said that maintenance of the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport is ongoing by making a schedule so that there would be no disruption in takeoff and landing of the planes in the country’s only international airport.
Informing the House of Representative today, Minister Adhikari said that the Ministry has given due attention for the human resource management and technology development for the effectiveness of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
Regarding the concerns on the procurement of two wide-body aircrafts, Minister Adhikari said the ministry is carrying out a study adding that the procurement process was too lengthy. The lawmakers would be informed after the study, Minister Adhikari added.
The Minister for Culture and Tourism informed the House that different tourism promotional programmes have been advanced to bring in tourists from the neighbouring China and India.
During his speech, Minister Adhikari said that preparations were ongoing from the side of the ministry and expected supports from all to make Nepal Visit Year 2020 a success.
Lawmakers Prem Suwal, Chhakka Bahadur Lama, Mohan Baniya, Umakanta Chaudhary, Maheshwor Gahatraj, Dilendra Prasad Badu, Sanjaya Kumar Gautam, Bharat Kumar Shah, Sujata Koirala and others had put forth their questions to Minister Adhikari about the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. In response to the lawmakers, Minister Adhikari assured the lawmakers about the punctuality of NAC’s air services.
