Baitadi, Aug 18 ,  The school-going orphan children of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality of Baitadi district would get Rs 2,000 monthly allowance.

The Dogadakedar Rural Municipality has decided to provide monthly allowance to such children from the current fiscal year.

Vice-Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, Parbati Karki, said they would provide Rs 2,000 as monthly allowance to such students, so that they would not face financial crunch in their study. They would also feel that they were not helpless, she argued, adding that such move would also help in reducing child marriage cases.

The Rural Municipality has been collecting data of orphan children below 18 years to provide the allowance. It has already directed the Chairperson of all eight wards to collect data of orphan children.

The Rural Municipality has allocated Rs 240,000 for the same.
