Kathmandu, June 17 (RSS): The Supreme Court of Nepal on Sunday issued a show-cause notice regarding the party registration of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).
The notice was issued in the name of the Office of the Election Commission as EC had registered the party without 33% representation of women in the CPN’s central committee.
A single bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha issued the order seeking written reason behind registration of the party ignoring the provision of 33% women’s representation in CC.
Senior advocate Surendra Bhandari among other advocates had registered the writ petition in the Apex court in this regard.
