Rajbiraj, Dec 29,, Paddy production has recorded a rise in Saptari district this year.
The district produced 19,675 metric tons of paddy this year, which is the highest in the past four years, according to senior officer at Agriculture Knowledge Centre Bhagirath Yadav.
Paddy was cultivated in 63,000 hectares of the total 70,000 hectares of arable land in the district. The production of paddy this year is around 2.75 metric ton per hectare, which was 2.5 metric ton the previous year.
Rainfall at the right time allow paddy to be cultivated in 8,500 hectares more in compared to the previous year, Yadav said.
