Police and robber exchange fires; one Indian dacoit dead

Inruwa, Dec 10,,  An Indian dacoit died in an exchange of firings between Nepal Police and a gang of robbers at Musahari Tole in Koshi rural municipality of Sunsari last night.
Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Gyanendra Prasad Fuyal informed that an Indian dacoit was killed in an exchange of firings between police team deputed from District Police Office Sunsari for robbery control and a group of dacoits from India.
The deceased aged around 35 is yet to be identified. The police resorted to open fire for self defense after the suspected group of 4-5 dacoits targeted the police team with gunfire.
Other members of the dacoits’ team had run away to India after police intervention, said Fuyal.
Investigation into the incident is underway and the dead body was sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan for post-mortem, the Sunsari district police office said. —
