Nepal-Sri Lanka bilateral meet

Kathmandu, Sept 1 ,,   President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena held bilateral talks at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, this evening.
Matters related to different aspects of Nepal-Sri Lanka relations as well as mutual interests were briefly discussed.
In the presence of the President duo, the government officials of both the countries signed two separate Memorandums of Understandings (MoU) regarding the enhancement of mutual assistance. The MoUs includes one between Institute of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute of Sri Lanka and, and another on Cooperation for Youth Development.
The MoU to this effect was signed by Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shanker Das Bairagi on behalf of Nepal and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal WS Parera on behalf of Sri Lanka.
Likewise, the two countries signed MoU on youth development. Secretary at Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mohan Krishna Sapkota signed the MoU of mutual cooperation on behalf of Nepal.
Present on the occasion were Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, Sri Lankan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Vasanta Senanayake, Foreign Affairs Secretary Bairagi, Nepali Ambassador to Sri Lanka Biswomabhar Pyakurel, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Parera and high-ranking officials of the President’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Later today, President Bhandari hosted a banquet at Shital Niwas in honour of her Sri Lankan counterpart.
