MPs draw govt’s attention on pertinent issues

Kathmandu, June 22 (RSS): Most of the lawmakers speaking during the ‘zero hour’ in the House of Representatives meeting today, through the Speaker, drew the attention of the government on the landless squatters problem and road construction, among other issues.

Lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai called attention of the government to the need of making provisions for facilitating the financial institutions to open their branches in the outlying rural municipalities and municipalities as they were found reluctant to go there.

Lawmaker Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal urged the government to address the landless squatter problem which is seen at many places in the country.

MPs Meena Subba, Rangamati Shahi, Rajendra Prasad Gautam, Maina Kumari Subba, and Yagya Sunar raised the issue of the delay in the road repair and maintenance works due to the negligence of the contractors which was causing great deal trouble to the commuters during the rainy season. They called on the government to make the contractors immediately finish the infrastructure construction works.

Lawmaker Yasoda Gurung Subedi said the government should respond to the issues raised by MPs during the zero hour of the parliament session.
