Minister Gyawali briefs Upper House about PM’s China visit

Kathmandu, June 28 (RSS): Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on the behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has briefed the Upper House about PM’s six-day official visit to northern neighbour China.

Briefing the meeting of the National Assembly about PM’s six-day official visit to China from June 19-24, Minister Gyawali, also a member of the visit team, said that the talks and agreements held with Chinese government were important to lead the nation on the way to prosperity.
The bilateral agreements reached regarding the issues of Trans-Himalaya multidimensional connectivity expansion was historically important, Minister said.
Minister Gyawali also shared that agreements regarding railways, expansion of road network, transmission line, energy development, construction of Miteri Bridge and investment in productive sector were highly important for the development and prosperity of the nation.
He also briefed that expansion of land and air connectivity between the two countries, north-south connectivity and construction of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali economic corridors were milestone for the connectivity sectors in the country.
According to Minister Gyawali, the both countries agreed to carry out feasibility study for the extraction of oil and gas, export Nepalese good to China, providing Chinese technical support to Nepal and increasing the number of government scholarship to be provided to Nepal among other issues were held during the visit.
Minister Gyawali, informed that PM Oli on behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari had invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Nepal, and he (PM Oli) also personally requested his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang, to visit Nepal as well.
Minister Gyawali argued that the visit contributed a lot to the journey of political stability and economic prosperity of the country.
