Lamichhane held for alleged involvement in bomb detonation

Betrawati, Aug 6 Police arrested Bachchuram Lamichhane of Belkotgadhi municipality-5 for his alleged involvement in detonating bomb at ward office of Kakani rural municipality-1. Krishna Bahadur Palli Magar, Chief, District Police Office, informed that Lamichhane, a cadre affiliated to banned NCP-Biplav group, was held on charge of his involvement in bomb blast at ward office on July 30. He further shared Lamichhane was arrested from his Kirtipur-based stationery shop and brought to Nuwakot for further investigation. The court gave police the timeline to investigate into the case by putting Lamichhane in bar for three days after he was made available before the district court on Monday. However, his family members have urged to release Lamichhane furnishing clarification that he was no more associated to bandit Biplav group but was doing his business in Kirtipur. Lamichhane’s spouse Rashmi Dhungana urged to release him noting he was involved in business following government ban on Biplav-led party. She, however, said Lamichhane was a supporter of open political activities of Bipav not the violent one. —
