Bharatpur airport intensifies instruments management

Chitwan, March 11 ,,  The expansion of physical infrastructure and equipments management has gained pace at Bharatpur airport. New inevitable equipments have been installed at the airport while infrastructural expansion works are also underway.
Pawan Kumar Gautam, Chief, Civil Aviation Authority, Bharatpur, informed that Department of Communications and Aviation Assistance under the Civil Aviation Authority has purchased and sent the equipment used for luggage scanning as part of security check.
The new equipment costs Rs 9 million, Gautam shared. The equipment would be installed at the airport within a week, he added.
In absence of luggage scanner for computer-based inspection at the airport, there was a compulsion for passengers to show up their baggage.
Likewise, the up-gradation of the airport is also gaining speed. ‘Over lay’ is taking place on the runway. It has not been done once the runway having a length of 1200 metres was constructed. The parking space is also being expanded.
It was shared that Buddha, Yeti and Simrik airlines are operating 10 air planes on Bharatpur-Kathmandu route every day. —
