Around 500 families facing health issues due to use of impure water

Rajbiraj, Oct 2,,   Around 500 families at Hanumannagar of Saptari have no way except to using polluted water for their daily use including for drinking purpose.
The situation was the result of the recent flood that affected the Hanumannagar Kankalani municipality and Tilathi rural municipality.
Since the flood entered the settlement, substances-mixed smelly water started coming out from the shallow tube-wells. People here have no access to other safe sources of water and are forced to use impure water, said a local Ram Sada. Shallow-tube well is the main source of drinking water in the Tarai settlement.
It is said people have started taking ill after drinking such water. Various health issues like diarrhoea, pneumonia, sore throat, common cold and eye discharge have been seen among them.
