Kathmandu, Oct 3,,   Nepali Congress (NC) central committee member Dr Shekhar Koirala has argued that the recommendation furnished in the amendment of NC’s statute was not an appropriate thing to do.
At a programme organized by Gandak Tokha Democratic Society at Tokha today, leader Koirala asserted, “A political party should be functioned on the basis of coordination, consultation among the leaders and cadres rather than the absolute power.”
Koirala underscored the need for the NC to focus on expansion of the organization and publicizing of its policies in union and opined that it would be eventually the NC that would play its role in the implementation of constitution, successful management of the federalism and the development agendas.
Lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan pointed out the need for NC to take the democratic and historic contribution heralded by the NC among the public.
Present at the event were Society’s Vice-President and former Chairperson of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Kul Chandra Wagle, NC’s Tokha Municipality President Basanta Shrestha among others who univocally argued that there should not be erosion in the Nepali Congress’ time-honoured values and traditions.
