28 arrested for electricity theft

Gaushala, Mahottari, Aug 31 ,,   The police have arrested 28 people from various places of the district on the charge of electricity theft. A joint team of the police and Armed Police Force on Thursday arrested them in the course of a monitoring at the request of Jaleshwor-based distribution centre of Nepal Electricity Authority, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka. The arrestees were found to be hooking electricity to their houses.
They would be released after charging them between Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 each, said Khadka. The NEA branch has launched a drive against power theft in the district in response to complaint about electricity theft.
