Water supply project completes in Paschim Nawalparasi

Nawalparasi, Oct 1    The local people at Dharma Basti of Bardaghat municipality -14 have now access to potable water with the completion of a drinking water project. The project construction that began in 2065 BS has been completed two months before the deadline. The project was constructed with an investment of Rs 28.4 million of the federal government, Rs 3.5 million provided by the then Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office, Nawalparasi and Rs 600 thousand provided by the Bardaghat Municipality for expanding the pipeline. President of the Daunne Devi Water Supply Committee, Surya Ale said about 1,200 households of Dharmabasti, Gangabasti, Suryanagar, Shital Basti, among other places in Bardaghat municipality-14 have benefited from the project. A water storage tank with a capacity of 225,000 litres has been constructed for the time being and if this is fund not adequate extra water would be supplied through pumping up ground water and filtering it.
