Parliament work schedule affected

Kathmandu, June 18   ,,  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was scheduled to deliver the statement of public importance in today’s session of the House of Representatives (HoR). But the Lower House could not carry out its today’s business as per the schedule due to obstruction from the main opposition Nepali Congress. With the commencement of the session, the NC lawmakers stood from their respective seats, citing that the opposition leader should be allowed to put views first. The Prime Minister who was granted time to give the opinion of public importance reached the rostrum amidst the protest from the main opposition. But, the Speaker announced the postponement of the session as protest continued with the chanting of slogans. Similarly, presentation of four proposals about reduction of expenditures under different headings of the Appropriation Bill-2076 BS was in the schedule of today’s meeting. Dila Sangraula, Sanjay Kumar Gautam, Satya Narayan Sharma Khanal and Prem Suwal were scheduled to present proposals, seeking the deduct of budget relating to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security; Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport; and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
